Accomodation for scholars and researchers
Important: You need to organize your accomodation by yourself. In Munich, rents are quite expensive, so expect at least 600 € per month for a single room. As student you can get a better deal for rooms provided by the Munich Student Union (Studentenwerk München). Please find some helpful websites and notes below.

Useful informations and links after the arrival
- Visit as soon as possible the Kreisverwaltungsreferat (KVR) to get officially registered (https://www.muenchen.de/rathaus/Stadtverwaltung/Kreisverwaltungsreferat.html)
- Open up a German bank account (if needed)
- Take out insurances (for health, lab ...)

Depending on the route ticket prices can be quite high. Expect 80-100 € per month. Employees of LMU get 10% discount on a 12-month jobticket, please read further informations in the LMU-Serviceportal.
